Going, Going – Almost Gone!

Almost set to head out on our 40th anniversary road trip.  We are leaving on the 8th and spending the night in Richmond, Va. The following day, we are touring Shenandoah National Park on route to Gettysburg where we’ll spend the night of the 9th. We’ll check out Gettysburg National Park on the 10th and stay in Uniontown, PA that evening. The following morning, the plan is to visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s, Falling Water and take a ride through Ohio Pyle State Park.

At the Ancient Agora in Athens.

On the 11th, we check into the Holiday Inn Express in Belle Vernon for two nights where we will spend our anniversary and return the towels and keys I made off with 40 years ago. Granted, it’s not the same Holiday Inn….that one closed, but it’s the next best thing and they seem happy to be getting their towels back!

On the 13th, we head to Erie, Pa to see the sights and finally, on the 14th and 15th, we will be honeymooning on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls in what’s promised to be a spectacular room overlooking the falls.

Hope to be back home a couple of days later. In the meantime, this week’s anniversary flashback is in Athens, Greece. We spent three nights there before heading out on a cruise to the  Greek Isles.

I’ve always wanted to see Falling Water. Sounds like a great trip. Skyline Drive in Shenandoah is beautiful. Back in the day we used to hike up Stony Man Mt or hike down to Dark Water Falls. Do you really have 40 yr old towels? 🙂
